A20 Condition Survey

TPHS were appointed by Port of Dover to assist them to investigate the deterioration of the carriageway surfacing following completion of the A20 works to construct two new signals junctions on Townwall Street on the approach to Dover Eastern Docks.

The work entailed investigating the on site construction and delivery records of the contractors and sub consultants and examining the type of road construction including through the undertaking of core samples from the road.

In conjunction with pavement design experts it was discovered that the incorrect materials and depths were potentially laid on certain parts of the road construction which could have led to the faster deterioration.
