TPHS were brought in to assess the highway works previously agreed as part of the former S106 Agreement along the South Way Corridor

We advised the client on technical details as well as principles of design as the historic scheme felt like it was overdesign.

TPHS produced a compliant S278 works design as well as a refocussed design to present to LB Brent. Major improvements were:-

• Removal of bus laybys from the scheme as no buses were now proposed to travel along this route
• Reduce scale of service lay-by as our study proved daily servicing demand could be accommodated in smaller facility
• Introduce controlled pedestrian crossing to reflect additional client aspirations for the area

These changes were approved by LB Brent which saved the client significant time and money in terms of works costs and implementation of programme.
